Software ALEMMA.EXE

Freeware by H. Sonderegger
Current Version 2.6

The program runs on all Windows systems (Windows 11, 64-bit-systems as well). It's language is English or German and can be fixed in the program's menu. ALEMMA calculates a very big variety of analemmatic sundials. Additionally, it is a portable software which can be run from USB-sticks as well.

1. "Common analemmatic sundials" register (local) apparent time but not mean time. They consist of a linear date scale and hour marks situated along an ellipse. Additionally, the new version calculates analemmatic sundials with inclining and/or deviating shadowcasting index and planes as well.

2. "Very special analemmatic sundials" - suggested by Fred Sawyer - are horizontal 'craticular' analemmatic sundials. Their (inclined / deviating) index is fixedand not movable!

3. In addition "Split analemmatic sundials" are calculated and constructed. "Split Dials" are of a very special type which registers mean time with very good approximation.

The time marks show time intervals of 60 min, 30 min, 20 min, 15 min, 12 min or 10 min. Further 1, 2, 3 or 6 date marks per month are drawn along the date line. All results are displayed on screen graphically and in tables. Additionally all can be saved and printed on any printer installed in Windows.

All constructions can be saved as dxf- or hpgl-files. Furtheron, tables of ALEMMA can be saved in Excel format *.csv. Help files use the common chm-format.
If Windows should not display chm-help in the correct way then read the README.pdf, which is included in the downloaded zip-file.
